A Most Embarrassing Story

I had just started dating my boyfriend. I liked him and was getting a good vibe. Being a single mom I don't get the the chance to go out a lot. It was difficult to get to know him due to scheduling and keeping the kids uninvolved.
He's an understanding guy and worked the sched great. We'd hang out after the kids were in bed so they didn't know I went out or that he came over.
My dog on the other hand... "A protector to the end". He never had a male around here and he didn't welcome the intrusion at first. He is a friendly giant.. (Part Mastiff) and loves any attention. As long as the attention is on him and not me or the kids.

Marley at 2.5 yrs
First he was a good distraction. Then. Once we were getting to know eachother he became overbearing. Even a hug at the door causes him to come bounding at us like a dinosaur. He isn't angry, he is wanting a hug too I guess...

My dog's really bad habit is wanting to mark his territory. Unfortunately for me.. I am part of his territory.. He didn't always need to pee on me... Sometimes as I was dragging him away he lost control.

So... One night we were watching a movie and he was so excited. He finally became uncontrollable. I put him in his crate. When I walked back into the livingroom I was scanning for pee, I knew him well enough. I asked my date.. had he saw any pee, it wasn't an unusual question. He was scanning the floor at the same moment I stepped in what I had been looking for. It didn't end there..

I stepped and in painful slow motion I fell on my butt into the pee. And my date caught the entire thing.

I sat there for awhile.. I don't know why. And I finally said, "Go ahead, laugh.."

And he did.

BATHTIME MISHAP

My children bath together. This story indirectly links to the fact that I love watching anything "Ghost" on TV. My daughter also loves it but it leads to bathing with her little sister and sleeping with the dog. The story is about bath time with my 3 year old daughter.
My little one like a lot of children I'm sure tends to pee in the bathtub. My oldest don't get mad anymore, she just encourages her sis to pee first. It's ongoing and has lead to many fights. One night my little one had an accident.. I cleaned her up and put her in the bath. Her sister who wasn't aware decided to get in the tub. I advised her to empty and refill because.. well, just incase.
She patiently empties the tub and refills it. As the water is running and they are playing I can hear my youngest calling her sisters name, finally my oldest says "What!". My 3 year old says in a bragging voice, "i just peed in the tub". My oldest is like just now!? While it's running?" She answers in the same proud voice,"Yup". So not so patiently she empties the water and refills.

A few days later they are making their way back to the bathtub. I listen to the same routine as I am cleaning up. "Do you need to pee?" "No it's ok I peed" "Are you sure?" After awhile my youngest gets mad at the peeing pressure. The discussion stopped the bath started.
Later, I am putting them to bed. As I tuck my 3 year old in and kiss her good night, I say "Do you want  to pee before you go to sleep?" She responded in her fav proud voice while yawning, "No, it;'s ok mommy, I already peed in the tub".....

An Unfortunate Hamster Mishap....

Growing up we always had pets;cats, dogs, hamsters, birds…  So my kids had and still have no shortage of pets. This is a story I want to share about my oldest daughter. It isn’t a nice story or memory to say the least, it’s her views on what must be that made me have to control my laughter when she found her Hamster dead that morning…

I was pregnant at the time and working in a busy office environment. Morning sickness was one regular morning visitor I could always rely on. Therefore when I stumbled to the kitchen in the morning I didn’t care what I stepped over or on.. My goal was to make it through every day and hope this baby would soon be born.

The Guilty Party
She was 7 years old at the time. The Hamster was a reward from Dad for having stitches removed.. The Cat.. He was a homeless kitten too little to survive alone when he was found. In the cat’s defense, he was here first. I knew the Hamster was roaming the night before and not too impressed. It was dropped that day when it bite the hand that was holding it.

So this particular morning I was in the kitchen preparing breakfast and I hear a scream from my daughter. (Kimmy Gibler) was the little guys name.. She screams, “OMG Mommy Kimmy is dead.. OMG she has no head”… Wow. Not off to a good start. And to think I stepped over Kimmy and didn’t even notice. I’m neat, it was the only thing on my floor..

I did what Mom’s & Dad’s do in this situation and explain the best way I can about life and death and the consequences of owning pets. She was assured with the thought that she would see Kimmy again, not for a long time but we all meet again in Heaven Right? Then I explained the food chain so the poor cat didn’t turn into a monster.. She calmed down and soon we were out the door and on the way to daycare.

She was ok by now but you know how it is. You get in the car, you listen to the radio, your thoughts drift… But not so far that I missed the new weeps coming from the backseat. We’re almost at daycare and I’m not a fan of starting the day leaving my little girl mad or sad. I attempted to quickly do my best to talk her through it again before we arrived. She cut me off, it was useless, she reached a whole new conclusion that left me stumped.

She said Mom I’m not going to see Kimmy in Heaven either. I said of course you are. She said, No I won’t, she’ll never be able to find me there! She doesn’t have her head!
